Privacy Policy

Choose The Play is run by EPPS Sports Cards, LLC, doing business as Choose The Play ("we", "us"). This policy explains what we collect when you use choosetheplay.com and the Choose The Play app (the "Service"), how we use it and the choices you have. The short version: we use your information only to run the Service for your team. We don't sell it, and we don't use it for advertising.

1. What we collect

• Account details. Your email address and password. Passwords are stored as secure hashes by our sign-in provider, and we can't read them. We also keep your team's name, its sports, and the coaches on the team with their roles and which sports they can see.
• Team content. Everything your staff adds: plays, playbooks, schedules, game plans, opponent notes, rosters, depth charts, workout programs, maxes, test results, goals, evaluations, notes, film and documents.
• Athlete information. Coaches may add athletes' names, numbers, positions, class years, height and weight, performance results, injury status and notes. Section 4 explains how that information is handled.
• Billing details. Stripe processes payments. We receive your plan, subscription status, billing period and a Stripe customer ID. We never receive or store your full card number.
• Usage records. We count how many AI analyses your team runs and how much file storage it uses, so we can apply plan limits and keep costs in check.
• Technical data. Our hosting provider keeps standard server logs, such as IP address, browser type and the pages requested, to run and secure the site.

2. How we use it

• To provide the Service: signing you in, saving and syncing your team's data, and showing coaches' changes live to the rest of the staff.
• To run the AI features you choose to use.
• To bill subscriptions and apply plan limits.
• To send emails about your account, such as sign-in links, invites, receipts and important changes.
• To keep the Service secure, fix problems and improve it.

We don't sell personal information. We don't share it for advertising, and we don't use advertising trackers.

3. Who we share it with

We share information only with the companies that help us run the Service, and only what each one needs. Each of them processes the data for us.

• Supabase: sign-in and the database that holds your account and team data.
• Cloudflare: website hosting, and storage for the files you upload.
• Stripe: payments and subscription billing.
• Anthropic: the AI model behind the AI features. When you run an analysis, the information that feature needs is sent to Anthropic to produce the result. Examples are the opponent notes and your depth chart for a game plan, or an athlete's results for a development analysis. Under Anthropic's commercial terms, this data is not used to train its models.
• Our email provider: sending account emails.

We may also share information if the law requires it, to protect people's safety or our rights, or as part of a sale or merger of the business. In a sale or merger, this policy would still apply to your information.

4. Athletes and minors

The Service is for coaches and staff who are 18 or older. It isn't meant for children, and we don't knowingly collect personal information directly from children under 13. Many athletes are minors, though, so coaches may add information about them.

• Your team controls the athlete information it enters. The coaches who add it are responsible for having the right to do so, including any consent their school, club or local law requires.
• We use athlete information only to provide the Service to that team. Only that team's coaches can see it.
• If you're an athlete, parent or guardian and want information changed or removed, contact the team's coach first. You can also email us and we'll work with the team to help.

5. How your team's data is protected

Each team's data is kept separate. Our database only lets signed-in coaches read or change data for a team they belong to. Uploaded files can only be opened by coaches on the file's team. Data is encrypted in transit (HTTPS). Our providers also encrypt stored data. No system is perfectly secure, but we work to protect your information. If a breach affects you, we'll tell you as the law requires.

6. Cookies and browser storage

We use a sign-in cookie to keep you signed in. Your browser's local storage remembers things like your last open tab and chosen sport. We don't use advertising or cross-site tracking cookies.

7. How long we keep data

We keep your team's data while your account exists, so it's there when you come back, even between seasons. The team owner can ask us to delete the team and its data at any time, and we will do so within 30 days. We keep billing records only as long as tax and accounting laws require. Deleted data may stay in encrypted backups for a short time before those backups expire.

8. Your choices and rights

• Coaches can view, edit and delete their team's content in the app at any time.
• You can ask us for a copy of your personal information, or ask us to correct or delete it, by emailing us. Depending on where you live, for example California or the EU/UK, you may have more rights under local law, and we'll honor them.
• We don't sell or "share" personal information as California law defines those terms.

9. International users

We're based in the United States, and our providers may process data in the US and other countries. By using the Service, you understand that your information may be processed outside your country.

10. Changes

If we change this policy in a significant way, we'll tell team owners by email or in the app before the change takes effect.
